Old trains on a parking in Havana

In the center of Havana, behind the Capitolio, we saw these old locomotives on a parking

To our surprise there was also a Dutch bus between the locomotives

Trucks are used as public transport

In Cuba is a shortage of buses and therefore trucks are used
as public transport

If there is a bus you sometimes must help push ....

If you're in Havana you should definitely take a ride in a CoCo cab

A CoCo cab you can`t miss in Havana

The cheerful bright yellow color you see from afar

The driver wears a helmet but passengers are without seatbelt and helmet behind him on a chair

You sit in the open and can see (or filming) everything fine

It feels weird when he goes through the bend on three wheels

Our taxi driver gave in the last corner extra gas and looked
how we responded ...

Sailing from Antilla tot Cayo Saetia on a catamaran

We sailed from the port of Antilla under the guidance of Cuban music over the Bahia de Nipe to Cayo Saetia

It was a wonderful trip, but I found it pity the music on board was so loud

At Cayo Saetia we snorkeled, had lunch in a restaurant with stunning views, made a safari and we have spent hours swimming in the wonderful water

It was a fantastic day and I felt sorry when it was time to leave ....

A ride in a Old American Buick convertible

With this beautiful old American Buick convertible we drove from Guardalavaca to the Chorro de Maita Museum Arquelogico

With the roof down we had a good view

Unfortunately we got car trouble on the way, but the driver
had repaired the car quickly

Transportation is a major problem in Cuba

It was very special to see yellow Dutch Arriva and Connextion buses in Cuba with a Dutch destination

These old buses are donated to Cuba but nothing was changed on these buses

Even the Dutch information number 0900 was still on the bus

You have plenty old American cars around the island

Parts for these cars are no longer to get in Cuba and everything
should be self-made

The coating depends sometimes of tape to each other

Lots of rust we saw on the cars

We saw old motorcycles with sidecars with whole families in it, pedicab `s and many horses and carriages

The horses were all very skinny

We saw a lot of riders on horseback galloping along the way

Trucks serve as public transport

There is a ladder hanging at the back of the truck and a rod made to hold on to because seats are not usually

Trains sometimes have a day’s delay

Along the highway were gathering points where people were hitchhiking

Officials were specially appointed to arrange that no car drove by with an empty seat

In eastern Cuba we have seen almost no paved roads and
they were full of holes

Some holes were so large that a car could disappear

We wondered if they drive when it`s raining because
than you don`t see the holes

Luckily we had always sunny weather…

Sometimes suppliers with bananas and oranges stood in
the middle of the highway

Driving down the road was an experience in itself

I was always glad we were on the road with a Cuban driver

There were almost no signs or lampposts and petrol pumps were also particular
