In the center of Old Havana is the Capitolio Nacional,
built between 1926 and 1929
The
huge dome was inspired by the Pantheon, St. Peter's and
the Capitol in
Washington
It was formerly used as government building but is now used by the
Academy of Sciences
Along the granite stairs are bronze statues of Angelo Sanelli
Left the "Virtue" and the right "Progress through labor"
The Capitolio is very beautiful but unfortunately it was renovated when we visited it
In many places in Havana you can see the Capitolio
